In Karaoke, amateurs sing into a microphone, to recorded music, while reading lyrics displayed on a video screen, generally for the purpose of personal entertainment and pleasure. It is held on a public address system like other shows but does not stage professionals and is largely informal in nature. Karaoke music is usually the famous pop music of the time and the actual singer’s voice is toned down to make the Karaoke singer heard.

Karaoke music and songs originate from Japan, where is part of their culture to entertain through music and songs at dinner. South Korea and Japan abound in Karaoke clubs where Karaoke music and songs are very common and these have now widely spread over the years, to Asian and American regions.

With the great acceptance and liking for Karaoke music and songs, Karaoke machines to keep inside houses were soon launched, but these failed to capture markets in the U.S. and Canada. Soon after this, karaoke machines were not being sold strictly for the purpose of karaoke anymore, but as home theater systems to give theater like sound quality at home. Home theater systems soon replaced karaoke, which from having been the main purpose of the stereo system, became one of its side features.

Many low priced entertainment systems with a Karaoke mode are now available for those who wish to hold a Karaoke party at home. Center removal is a method through which the vocals are removed from songs for Karaoke purposes.

How a Piano Dolly Became My Best Friend

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

As we get older as a society we forget that we are not as young as we used to be. Our bodies do not respond like they used to. Let me explain more. Every one remembers the day when they hurt themselves by doing a strenuous activity. The body does not heal and recover like it once did. The repetitive, fun activities of our youth are quickly replaced by ice packs, ibuprofen, and long relaxing stays on the couch. Let me tell you the story on how the piano dolly became my new best friend.

I can remember getting a call from an old friend who was in the process of moving into a new larger home. He was a friend that I knew since grade school. We had played together on a lot of sports teams while we grew up. We were very close. A lot like brothers. He had called to ask me if I would help move a couple of the larger items that he owned before the professional movers came and moved a majority of the possessions of his family.

His pride and joy was a very large and very heavy baby grand piano. It had been in his family for years. It was passed down to him after the death of his father. You can imagine it was very special to him. As I looked around the room I noticed that there was not a piano dolly insight. Knowing my friend I knew that he did want to spend the money to pay the high price for a professional piano mover. I knew that it was up to us to move this grand piano.

The problem with moving a very large piano is that the piano is very awkward. It is a very heavy instrument that can easily weigh over one thousand pounds. It can very easily be a back breaker. The design of the grand piano makes it very hard to maneuver. It can be very difficult to move over uneven surfaces. A mover must be careful not break one of the pianos legs and have the unit crashing down and causing serious injuries. One of the biggest obstacles is moving the grand piano through doorways. One of two things will happen. I knew we would either scratch the pianos wood surface or damage the walls. Spackling and sanding were soon to follow. I quickly was thinking of ways to excuse myself and not help.

To my surprise there was a ring at the door bell; at the door were 2 more helpers. With them they introduce me to my new best friend. It was a piano dolly. The piano dolly sturdy design made the move a lot easier. The grand piano was easily moved to the new location. I inquired of the cost of the piano dolly. The average price is around $400. It was money well spent. It is a lot cheaper than repeated visits to the chiropractor. If you are looking to move across town or to the next room, remember to use a piano dolly. It will easily become your best friend too!
